Guidelines
for using Tech4Learning logos, marks, and images
Referential
Use
You may generally use Tech4Learning
trademarks or product names to refer specifically
to Tech4Learning products. Tech4Learning does not object to your making referential use of our
trademarks or product names (but not logos)
in:
- Advertising;
- Books and other printed matter;
- Online and Internet locations;
- Public Exhibitions or demonstrations;
- In your own software applications.
Any use of trademarks or product names must:
- Follow our trademark guidelines;
- Not disparage Tech4Learning or its products;
- Not mislead the public as to Tech4Learning
sponsorship,
affiliation,
or endorsement of your company or your products or services.
TM vs. ®
Trademark rights are acquired by the proper, continuous use of the
trademark. A trademark that has not been registered with the Trademark
Office is noted with a TM. Registered trademarks are noted with a ®.
Although specific permission is not required for referential use,
Tech4Learning does request that you use our trademarks and registered
trademarks correctly and refer to them properly. Proper reference
includes marking them with the appropriate trademark symbol (® or TM).
You
should refer to the full product name and mark our trademark(s)
completely at the first and most prominent reference, or as soon as
practicable thereafter. To determine how the Tech4Learning product name
should appear, please check the Tech4Learning product box or product splash screen.
In addition, you must provide the following notice within your
product and/or product documentation which attributes ownership of the
mark(s) toTech4Leanring, Inc.:

________________ are either registered trademarks or trademarks of
Tech4Learning, Inc. in the United States and/or other countries.
Titles
Tech4Learning does not review or specifically grant permission to use its
trademarks in book titles, series titles, web site titles, or other
titles. Publishers should consult their own legal counsel regarding
proper referential use of others' trademarks in their titles. Titles
that refer to Tech4Learning trademarks are generally appropriate so long as:
(1) the Tech4Learning trademark does not appear as the first word or
otherwise as the most prominent part of the title; (2) the Tech4Learning
trademark is not used in any other manner that might suggest
Tech4Learning's
affiliation, sponsorship, or certification (e.g., using Tech4Learning trademarks as part of logos, designs, or other graphics); (3) the
product cover does not include any Tech4Learning logos, logotypes, icons, trade
dress, or other designs; (4) the product includes a prominent disclaimer of
association with Tech4Learning; and (5) Tech4Learning's trademarks are properly
marked with the appropriate a TM or ® symbol and attributed to
Tech4Learning.
Tech4Learning Logos
Tech4Learning logos may never be used by third parties
except under a license or written guidelines from Tech4Learning, Inc.
Box
Shots
Tech4Learning does not allow use of our box shots on third party software
packaging. However, Tech4Learning does not object to third party use of box
shots of our products in advertising, on documentation, in books and
other printed matter, on video tape, in software applications, or on World
Wide Web pages, so long as the use is not disparaging and falls within
the definition of "fair use" under International and/or United
States Copyright law, as applicable. Provided you adhere to the
following guidelines, no further written permission is required:
1. You may not disparage Tech4Learning or any of its products in your use of
Tech4Learning product box shots.
2. You should not use our product(s), product name(s), corporate name,
box shots or other copyrighted material in a way that would indicate
Tech4Learning sponsorship, affiliation or endorsement of your product.
3. Tech4Learning box shot(s) on third party software packaging is not allowed.
4. The Tech4Learning product box shot(s) must not be the most prominent
visual element. Your product, company name, logos, or graphics should be
significantly larger than the size of the Tech4Learning product box shot.
5. You should use only Tech4Learning approved box shots. You may NOT use
portions of the graphics, artwork, or trade dress from the packaging,
nor may you alter the box shots in any way except to resize to fit your
needs.
6. The copyright attribution should state: "Box shot(s) reprinted
with permission from Tech4Learning, Inc.".
7. If any Tech4Learning product is mentioned, the full name of the Tech4Learning
product should be used at first and most prominent mention,
or as soon as practicable thereafter, and the Tech4Learning trademark
should be marked as they appear on the Tech4Learning product packaging. A
footnote attributing trademark ownership to Tech4Learning should be used.
Provided that you abide by the above guidelines, no further written
permission is required.
