Using MediaBlender has allowed me let my students express themselves in a way that was not possible before. They have become effective learners because they gain the confidence of accomplishment. They have become effective students because they now know they have another way to express their knowledge.

Participants will use MediaBlender to create a multimedia project that incorporates original artwork, voice narration, and path animation to enhance and support their project’s content.

This workshop is designed for educators working with students at all grade levels (K-12).

Goal
Learn how multimedia can facilitate creativity, promote higher-order thinking skills, and engage learners across the K-12 curriculum.

Software Skills
Participants will gain experience creating multimedia with MediaBlender learning how to:

• add and integrate various forms of media,

• use a variety of paint tools to create original artwork, 

• animate graphics to show process and tell stories,

• save projects for CD distribution and web playback.

Timeline
This one day workshop runs for approximately six hours.  During the morning, participants will explore curriculum project ideas and learn basic MediaBlender skills. In the afternoon, they will work in collaborative groups brainstorming ideas and creating useful classroom projects. The day ends with ideas for integration and strategies for implementation.

Requisite Skills
