Web Sites within Minutes

Learn to make school-to-home connections with your own classroom web site.

Keep parents and students informed about class events, homework assignments, class projects, and more. Participants will use WebBlender to create a classroom web site including class pictures, student work, homework assignments, email links, and narration.

This workshop is designed for educators working with students at all grade levels (K-12).

Goal
Learn to create strong school to home connections with your own classroom web site.

Outcomes
  • brainstorm important elements of a classroom web site
  • learn specific web layout skills
  • develop web sites with current classroom information
  • leave ready to integrate WebBlender immediately

Software Skills
Participants will gain experience with web authoring, learning how to:

  • add text, sound, and images.
  • add site navigation and link to external files.
  • add tables and podcast objects to organize information.
  • publish HTML locally or to an FTP location.

Timeline
This one-day workshop runs for approximately six hours. During the morning, participants will view sample teacher web sites and learn the basics of web authoring with WebBlender. The afternoon will be spent brainstorming ideas and exploring possibilities as you create your own classroom web site.

Requisite Skills
