Regional Account Manager

Job Objective:

Tech4Learning creates award-winning educational software... the kind of stuff you wish you’d had on computers when you were in school. We make tools for painting, image editing, web authoring, frame animation, vector drawing, and more. Everything is designed to give kids blank screens and tools to showcase their creativity.

We are looking for and energetic person to represent us in the mid-western US (IL, MI, OH and surrounding states). We want someone who can enthusiastically support our current customers and introduce our products to educators who are not familiar with our solutions. have not yet been introduced to our products. This position combines education, technology, sales, and market development. The primary job is to meet sales goals and get our tools in the hands of students.

Available Regions:

Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and surrounding states.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit current district accounts and develop new accounts.
  • Generate orders by making sales calls and delivering product demonstrations to district contacts and committees.
  • Build relationships with key customers by determining customers needs, providing consultations on products, responding to inquiries, and providing product and pricing information.
  • Meet and/or exceed sales goals.
  • Thoroughly understand Tech4Learning’s product line and professional development, including but not limited to: features, benefits, system compatibility, pricing/configuration, and workshop timelines.
  • Initiate and make sales calls to prospective customers in assigned territory
  • Identify the decision-makers, provide product and technical information, and sell the company’s philosophy and commitment to providing quality products to educators.
  • Develop and implement a strategic territory plan for sales and marketing of our products in the assigned territory.
  • Influence key customers to buy our products.
  • Track funding sources and demonstrate a basic understanding of education purchasing practices.
  • Target sales opportunities through state and district adoptions.
  • Work with other members of the sales team to develop, implement, and maintain appropriate sales tools.
  • Responsible for attending and actively participating in tradeshows in assigned territory along with certain national shows. Greet customers at booth, generate preview orders, demonstrate products, answer questions, and conduct presentations and workshops.
  • Organize calls to key districts in conjunction with tradeshow travel. Stay appraised of tradeshows in assigned territory and recommend which ones company should participate in.
  • Assist in the strategic planning and ongoing development of the sales team.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 4 years experience working in an outside/field sales position.
  • Minimum 2 years experience selling K-12 educational products, or 2 years in an education technology position within a K-12 school district.
  • Demonstrate effective sales techniques with the ability to close sales.
  • Understanding of education technology trends and practices and curriculum implementations of technology
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal. Good listening skills.
  • Good organization, follow up, and problem solving skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows & Macintosh). MS Word, Excel, email, Internet.
  • Position involves about 50% travel.
  • Position may require individual to work out of a home office. Office equipment will be supplied.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, team player, leader and closer.
