Digital Cameras and Advanced Image Editing
Learn the basics of a digital camera and digital photography, including appropriate resolution, using the self-timer and flash, and which image file formats to use for specific goals.
They will work with ImageBlender to edit each image to achieve a different project and learning goal.
Goal
Learn how students can create stunning images to address curriculum goals.
Outcomes
- explore project ideas that meet cross curriculum goals
- learn how to enhance photos to show curriculum concepts
- assess understanding through image manipulation

Software Skills
Participants will gain experience editing images with digital cameras and ImageBlender learning how to:
- adjust settings, take pictures, and transfer images.
- resize, rotate, and crop images.
- apply visual effects to photographs.
- share images through slide shows and online storybooks.
Timeline
This one-day workshop runs for approximately six hours. During the morning, participants will work with digital cameras and complete an image scavenger hunt. During the afternoon, participants will learn image editing skills as they apply features to transform the digital images they have taken. The day ends with ideas for integration and strategies for implementation.
