Developing Digital Portfolios
Digital portfolios are computer-based collections of student performances over time.
Come learn how to use WebBlender to create a portfolio template that demonstrates a student’s progress and achievement in a given content area, includes the student in content selection and reflection, and clearly demonstrates the criteria for judging merit.
Goal
Learn to create and implement student-directed digital portfolios as an assessment tool to capture student academic performance over time.

- learn the pedagogy behind creating student portfolios
- explore various types of digital portfolios
- leave with the information necessary for implementation
Software Skills
Participants will gain experience with designing and publishing digital portfolios with WebBlender, learning how to:
- add text, sound, and images.
- add site navigation and link to external files.
- develop themes and templates.
- publish locally, online, or for CD/DVD distribution.
Timeline
This one-day workshop runs for approximately six hours. During the morning, participants will view sample portfolios, and learn the basics features of WebBlender so they are able to add text, images, animation, video, music, and voice narration to a portfolio. The afternoon will be creating sample student portfolio and developing a template for their classroom or school.
