Use the Clone Tool

You can use the Clone tool to copy portions of an image.

This is useful for changing the background, removing unwanted parts of a picture, or duplicating part of an image.

Click the Clone tool on the tool palette.


Hold down the Shift key on the keyboard and click the area you want to clone.


Move the cursor over the part of the picture where you want to add the cloned image.

Click and drag the cursor over the area to paint the clone.

You will see crosshairs on the part of the image that is being cloned. You will see the paint brush cursor on the area you are painting.


Use the Size slider to change the diameter of the Clone tool.


Move the slider to the left to clone a smaller area. Move the slider to clone a larger area.

Use the Softness slider to adjust the hardness of the edge of the effect.


Move the slider to the right to define the edge. Move the slider to the right to feather the edge.
