Change the Opacity of a Layer

You can change the opacity of a layer. When you make a layer less opaque, the image behind the layer becomes visible.

Click the layer you want to change on the Layers panel.

In this image, the white box behind the text will be made less opaque.

Click and drag the Opacity slider to adjust the opacity of the layer.

Drag to the left to make the layer less opaque.

Drag to the right to make the layer more opaque.

You will see the layer change as you drag the Opacity slider.
