Edit a Shadow

You can add shadows to layers. You can also change how the shadow looks.

Click a layer in the Layers panel.


Click the Shadow check box on the Layers panel.


You will see a shadow behind the layer.


Click the Edit button next to the Shadow check box.


You will see the Shadow Options dialog.


Drag the Opacity slider to change the opacity of the shadow.


Drag the slider to the left to make the shadow less opaque.

Drag the slider to the right to make the shadow more opaque.

Drag the Color slider to change the color of the shadow.


Drag to the left to make the shadow lighter.

Drag to the right to make the shadow darker.

Use the Angle & Distance control wheel to change the angle of the shadow and the distance the shadow is offset from the shape.


Drag the arrow around the wheel to change the angle of the shadow.

Drag the arrow closer to the center of the wheel to make the distance smaller.

Drag the arrow away from the center of the wheel to make the distance greater.

Drag the Blur slider to change the hardness of the edge of the shadow.


Drag to the left to make the edge of the shadow sharper.

Drag to the right to make the edge of the shadow softer.

When you are finished editing the shadow, click the OK button.
