Capture a Time-Lapse

You can capture multiple frames from a web cam to create a time-lapse animation.

Make sure the camera is turned on and connected to your computer.

Click the Camera tool on the Tools palette.


You will see a preview from the video source.


Click the Time-lapse check box.


Click the Time-lapse units pull-down menu and choose whether you want capture images over seconds, minutes, or hours.


Enter the amount of time you want between each image in the Time-lapse field.


Click the Duration units pull-down menu and choose how long you want to take pictures for.


Enter the amount of time you want to take pictures for in the Duration field.


Click the Capture button.


You will see the Time-lapse dialog.


Click Save if you want to save the file while the time-lapse is in progress.

Click Stop if you want to stop the time-lapse.

Click Keep Working if you want to work on your animation while the time-lapse is capturing images.

New frames will be added for each time-lapse instance.


You will see the frames in the Timeline or Storyboard.


When you are finished capturing frames, or you want to continue working while the time-lapse is in progress, click the Edit button on the tools palette.
