Pixie can be used across many grade levels and curriculum areas. Students love using Pixie for performance tasks that require them to apply what they have learned and demonstrate their mastery of curriculum and standards.
Pixie helps all students produce high-level work, providing a sense of pride in their abilities and fostering the determination to achieve.
The Pixie app for iPad, Android, and Pixie 4 on Mac and Windows have similar interfaces. Files can also be opened and edited across multiple devices allowing students to work on projects in a mixed device environment.
If your organization uses Windows and Macintosh PCs, iPads, Android tablets, or a combination of all of these, there is a Pixie solution for you.
As students create valuable products like eBooks, comics, and public service announcements, they connect what they learn and do in the classroom to the world around them. Students can share their work in print or by creating videos, eBooks, and HTML files.
An independent, peer-reviewed study of over 1,000 students across five states demonstrated the effectiveness of Pixie in Reading Comprehension and Mathematics learning. Using pre and post tests of treatment and control groups, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in classrooms using Pixie demonstrated substantial growth compared to students in classes where Pixie was not used. Students participating in the treatment group achieved a half-year's more growth than students in the control group.
